All,
I will be taking a job transfer to Nashville. Can any one give me some information on the area? I won't be moving until late march but am taking a trip or two down to find a house, etc in late january and february. Specifically, I was trying to find out the names of towns or zip codes in the area where I can purchase a house on a large lot (at least 1 acre but hoping for more). I don't mind being 30 to 45 minutes from downtown nashville. Just looking for names of cities or zip codes so I can plug into realtor.com. A friend told me about a town called Murfreesboro but I know nothing about the community. any help would be apprectiated. Oh, I am also looking for a shop to do some body work.

What side of Nashville will you be working or looking for a place to live?
Murfreesboro is south, Lebanon is a good spot, east. Spring hill is south west. Need more info to help.
PM vintageracer, he is in Nashville and probably knows more about the area than anyone here.

I don't need to live on any specific side of Nashville(Over a territory so I'll be driving like cazy and working from home on most days).

I also recommend the east side of town, Lebanon or Mt Juliet. Most houses are on 1+ acre lots. Murfreesboro is also a nice area but has grown so fast that traffic is becoming a mess.

Just throwing this out there...I'm on the west side of town, in Cheatham county. No emissions check in Cheatham, lots are usually 1 acre +, and a rural feel 30-45 minutes from downtown.
