Pic is about 4 years old, eh, but at $100 here and $100 there, it doesn't change very fast. Especially when you need to buy tools and stuff as well as parts.

I was gone for about 18 months though:usa:

Note that it was progressing that fast before...

It does have the passenger fender, header panel and fender extensions installed. Oh, and a flat left front tire.

Can I assume that you just spent 18 months in Iraq/Afghanistan?

Riley thanks for doing your part to keep us safe! If nothing else the military taught you discipline...this will come in very handy with your project! First make a reasonable plan for the car and then see it threw! You will be fine!! And remember, enjoy the journey!! :)

No pictures, and no time frame, but I found a shop to do some piece work!

I'm so excited! :git:

The shop does great work, I'm supplying the fill plate, but they're going to weld the plate in, fill a few holes like the blower motor etc and sand/paint the firewall, core support and dash for a reasonable price!

Now off come the fenders etc :( But overall, PROGRESS!

Still working out details of cost verses my work, so I may just be able to disconnect the exhaust/lines etc and have them slide the sub frame out with the motor and tranny still installed and paint and put the frame back in. Save me work and buying or renting an engine puller and not cost too much either.

The shop has done quite a few classics, comes highly recommended, (they know what pro-touring is) and apparently really likes small jobs like these for cash flow reasons! They do a ton of custom paint on bikes and snowmobile hoods.

Did I mention I was excited? The firewall and dash were two of my stumbling blocks...I should have asked around shops here earlier!!!

Figured I'd throw in the limited goody list:
Vintage Air Surefit A/C
MSD Billet Dist with 6A and Blaster 2
Speedway billet battery mount for the Optima in the trunk
Painless 18 circuit harness
Auto Meter Phantom 5" speedo and tach, with 2 5/16" fuel, amp, oil press, and temp guages.
PST suspension rebuild stuff
SSBC Front Disc brake with manual Corvette master and SSBC prop block
700R4 with B&M hammer shifter
300hp GM Performance Crate engine
Edelbrock RPM manifold
Edelbrock 1406 or 1407 carb(to buy)
Borla SS headers
Flowmaster dual exhaust with transverse muffler
DSE fill plate(to be installed)
Coated inside and underneath
Sub frame and parts blasted and painted chassis black
New inners, one new outer fender
Emblem holes all filled

I'm now re-energized at the prospect of driving this car, I've got a lot of good parts and found some good help. Hopefully, it will be drive able before the snow hits again.

Tons of new parts: 4 core rad, gas tank and straps, lights, Prodigy Custom SS fasteners, sill plates, weather strip, carpet, Lokar cables, some stuff to be installed still.

My biggest issues were, the mechanic/body shop and not planning better due to inexperience and bigger dreams than budget.

Obviously the money spent on carpet, weather strip and a dozen other things would have been better spent on more basic needs first.
