I bought another project this week (nothing new there), a 6 cylinder 68 Mustang California Special Mustang with no motor or transmission. I've got a late model FI 302 roller motor with a 5 speed that should work well along with a bunch of other Mustang suspension parts no longer used on the 66 Shelby Vintage Race car that will work nicely on this car.
The first pictures are of the car on Thursday after bringing the car home. The other pictures are of my Saturday afternoon soda blast party in the backyard. The car is actually has VERY little rust and will make a great driver when completed sometime in my next lifetime!
Upgrades will include the above stated engine/transmission, complete 68 Shelby frontend (hood and nose), CCP front suspension kit to eliminate the strutrods with full lower control arms and tubular uppers, leftover Kelsey Hays 4 piston front disc brakes I already have, manual rack & pinion steering, 3.50 Detroit locker for the rear and probably some type of rear disc brakes maybe or a set of Galaxie rear drums I have in the shop and Classic A/C. Colors will be the original Accpulco Blue with either white stripes or orange side stripes to match paint on my old GT 350.
I want nothing more than a good driver/cruiser. The 302 roller FI motor will be stock along with the T5 5 speed transmission. I will stick with the real Shelby 10 Spoke wheels that came with the car.
