So I finally found a truck I really wanted on ebay. Its kind of a rare truck a 2000 box style silverado crew cab short bed 4x4 black with low miles. This is the last year they made that truck in that body style. I called the guy told him I was interested and asked if he was going to let the auction run. Well I go on there today and he ended the auction early and sold it to the highest bidder. I still have his phone number. Should I call him and asked what happened. Should I offer hime more than what he ended it. I willing to pay about a thousand more than what he ended it for. So does anyone have any advice on the matter. Thanks

Check his add if its say its advertised else where and can be removed, then what might have happened is the person has paid the advertised price,if i see this i normaly give it a wide burth as more often than not if the bidding going slow they pull them, happen a few times 1s i've watched ,happened last week on a bike i was looking at no bids asked how much its was £100 more than starting price watched it for 6 days no bids pulled on the last day saying it was sold.

Well the old saying applies here.... you snooze you lose!! Unfortunately, because the auction ended does not mean it ended for the bid you saw last on there. Many times on ebay people will contact the seller and ask him what he wants for the car to end it early right now, many many times a deal is struck before the end of the auction if someone really wants it bad enough. Me? I have sold about 22 cars on ebay and out of those 22, 15 were bought using the BUY IT NOW, 5 were bought by someone calling be personally and making me a very good offer and only 2 went to the end of the auction(not hitting the reserve).
I guess my point is if you see something on EBAY and you KNOW what you are absolutely willing to pay for it dont play the "I think Ill wait and score a deal on it" mentality, cause today there are about 1000 other people out there that know what kind of deal it is and what it is worth. The old cars and trucks are getting harder and harder to find so my advice? If you want it BUY IT!! Even if it is a little more than what you want to pay cause in the long run, with the way the value of these cars and trucks keeps going up, you will not loose out.. Just my .02 cents...
