Got bored yesterday, and since it was so "hot" (upper 40's in Chicago), I decided to try all my different wheels on the Judge. I really like the Torque Thrust D's that I originally put on it 5 or 6 years ago, but they are only 15's so limit my future brake options.
Other than the tire I currently have on the Boze wheel (from my "Burnt Toast" project) being way too small, it gives the car a bit more of a PT feel than the racy TTD's, but I dont think it goes too well with the Judge stripes.
The Boyds (from the '61 Impala project) are a nice upgrade in style and make me think of Rodgers '69 GTO (thats a good thing, I love that car).
The car also needs to come WAAAAYY down in stance.

You aint kiddin'...my outside thermometer hit 50 today!!!
The cool part about the wheels is that I dont have to decide...I can change them up anytime since they fit an virtually anything I got:razz:
Still gotta see what the Boze will look like on the Impala.

did you bring that to a car show in the naperville gmc parking lot a year or two back? :hmm:Dont think that was me. I don't do car shows usually. I do go to most of the cruise nites in the area though. Mostly Lombard and Downers Grove, but didn't have it out at all last year. There is one other Orbit Orange '70 in the area as well.

Don't forget to get that stance right! As important as wheels are stance is equally important!

Oh yeah...thats what I'm talkin' 'bout. Thats exactly where it's headed. Looks like about a 3/4 drop, but I'l probly go AirRide...again. Also looks like 18/19 would be a better fit than the 17/18. I'll have to see what my new Forgelines look like on there.
Thanx John.

Good idea! I think with the bigger wheel you'll get a little more added lift which will be better for not scraping but still be able to tuck the wheel for a meaner look!

Thanx again John. I think the bigger wheel needs a bigger tire too, but then I can't afford either...LOL. These are what I have right now, and thats what I'm stuck with. Except for the Forgelines I have comming from Frank are 18/18. I'll have to make due with what I got already. It's bad enough I concidered that car done. I did get a set of Hotchkiss rear springs that are supposed to lower it some, so thats how it gets driven this year. Thanx again for costing me more money!!! LOLOLOL

Rubes....I'd go with the Boyds but I wouldn't drop the stance too much. Just take the upperwheel lip to about a 1/2 inch above the tire. That's how Roger has it on Deliverance. This is the first I'm seeing of your Goat, I like the looks of it and the color scheme. Very classic. Can't wait to see it in September.

Rubes.....is that a '70 Judge? a good friend (old neighbor) in Bolingbrook has a Black '70 Judge, he is trying to decide on new wheels as well. I'd choose #2, with slightly lowering the car!!
keep that car inside....more snow tonight!!

BTW....we should have a Chicago area meeting when the weather gets better in the spring/summer!!! that will give me time to finish my build...........:squint:

My vote is for the Boze wheels, bigger and a lowered stance. That would be the bomb!
