The good old holiday spirit of taking.

I have magazine scripts to PHR, Hot Rod, and Car Craft. (Yes, I am a magazine whore.) Since I am overseas, they go to my company address, who then (along with my other mail) forwards it to me. Well it seemed to be taking a long time to get them lately. I usually don't track it, but I ran out of the other reads and was growing impatient. I figured maybe they were saving them up to send at once possibly. So I call them. "Oh we sent a few out since the last couple months." Apparently someone along the mail chain also likes cars.

So next time the mail room is going send them differently so it is not so obvious. Hopefully that part is solved, but still doesn't take care of the fact I have nothing to read over here. So I call the magazine to see if they would help. Yup, more than glad to (I'm a pretty decent customer)! Turns out I'm behind a couple issues of each. Oh, but wait, no back issues in stock on any of them! SOL.

If the person responsible is reading this, please stop taking them. It's not even about the money. Here I am in a foreign country where English is a second langauge and the one connection to my hobby is these magazines I receive every so often. I can't just go down to the corner store and purchase them. And magazines are so expensive that you need to take mine.

I just gathered up a bunch of my old ones and sent them off to a buddy in Iraq. For him and anyone that may read them.

Which one (months) do you need? I have a few left and can ship them to you. Cover half the shipping and call it a deal. I usually just toss them after a couple months anyway.

I have a buddy in SF to whom I send all my car parts, he then repack in bigger boxes and ship the stuff to me.
well... after looking five years for a set of $300 Cadillac vent window motors to use on my Chevelle he received the parts, tested them and sent them along with some Craftsman tools, three months later he went to the post office in SF to ask where the box he sent to Italy was, it had just that day !?!?! returned from Italy with unknown address and was opened and all the stuff was stolen :o( strange story if you ask me.

I hate thieves!

Sorry to hear that! Hopefully they were insured! (I know that doesn't cover the fact that they were impossible to find).
