Hello everyone, I have a 79 formula firebird that had a 301 2 barrel with a auto trans. In high school I put in a mild 454 bored .60 nothing all that special. Im 21 now and have began to work on her again, lil things here and there.

I'm gonna be goin for the pro touring look but not to sure about some things. Bodywise I was gonna get some trans am fenders, but started thinking if 70-73 fenders and face would fit but then Iv seen some nice fiberglass one piece front ends and fiberglass doors, I really wanna do the doors cause the doors on these birds are freakin' heavy. but with the doors would delete the windows which i still wanna have because i wanna cruise it. I was think of windows like the 68 hemi darts, that pull up with a strap would work with lexan but these cars windows curve a lil so i dont know, just up in the air really. Any how i got some y2k wheels for it, now i need spacers/adapters (everyone tells me :here!: not safe but the wheels are just for cruise now no serious curve carvin) but later I wanna four link it but thats later when I get a mig.

Well thanks for listening to me ramble on. Any Firebirds out there?

yeah, i have a 79 bird also. Its got the 403 olds. Im planning a trans am clone. Considering back dating the nose to a 76 or 78, cant make up my mind. This winter Im going to rework the suspension. Im also trying for the pro-touring look. strictly cruising, and street performance. Good luck to you. Keep us posted

Another bird here. Mine had an 95 lt1 and t56 with a 9 inch it was a great crusier with that combo. On the highway pilling a 4x8 uhall trailer it got 19 mpg from maryland to iowa for the 06 hotrod dragweek. Its in a million pieces now going for the serious street/ corner carver.
