Another Stainless Works recommendation here. I couldn't be happier with mine, and the plain stainless finish looks cool and is very easy to keep looking good. I didn't like my last experience with Hooker's ceramic coating. It just didn't hold up very well for me.
FYI, go to Summit Racing for the Stainless Works headers. They were a lot cheaper than direct from Stainless Works.
BTW, I've never heard of Southwest headers either.

I think the original poster wants some decent budget headers. I'd love to have those sick headers on the Nova, but that's like half the price of the engine build. :crying:

Jeg's has them. Part number from memory is something like CALS1SB. It took almost two months of being backordered before mine showed up. They're very nice headers.........

+1 for Jegs. They're $763 at Jegs as opposed to $842 directly from Stainless Works. I am also still waiting on mine.

Huh, it looks like they are no longer listed on their site. I used to be able to punch in the part number found on the Stainless Works site and it would pull up the headers on the Summit Racing site. Maybe they don't sell them anymore?
The other guys are right, though. Jegs is now selling them http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10002_328588_-1:

Thanks Again! Andy
We are a Stainless Works, Hooker, and Dynatech WD, so we can usually beat Summit or Jegs on LSX parts. Email me if you havent ordered, or need a price on anything else LS Based.

I am using the S&P mounts. You have to get the specific headers from Stainless Works to clear the stock steering box.
The part number is..."CALS1SB" for the regular finish and "CALS1SBP" for the hand polished.

Lemons Headers also makes LSX headers. I'm deciding between those and ATS's for my LS7.

No I don't... Turnkeyenginesupply had a Camaro at SEMA that had their headers. I asked a few questions but the guys didn't seem too friendly and knowledgable about the header. Maybe someone here has a picture? Lemons and ATS's are the only headers I know of that have the correct exhaust port flanges for the LS7. Everybody else uses a LS1/2 flange I think. I remember it being priced between ATS's and the other headers you see around. Lemons build them with 2" primaries which seem huge but I'm sure they can go smaller if specified. They are made to order.

Dynatech as well as Lemons headers are designed around the Detroit Speed engine mounts. Has anyone used these mounts? I haven't seen them mentioned on here too much.

I used hooker headers. I was not a big fan of their coating either so I contacted Jet Hot. They buy bair headers from Hooker and put Jet Hot coating on of your choice. Bought them a couple of months ago for $669. They fit around the steering box perfect. I have pics at the bottom of page 1 at https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40125

What engine mounts/plates are being used in those pictures? How much room to move either forward or backward do you have? Thanks
ls1 nova

Tons of room to move forward(headers will not fit if moved more than 5/8"). I have 7/8" from passsenger head to firewall. I am using transdapt 1" setback plates. I would not suggest anybody to buy them. They do not line up correctly and not of a very high quality. Just bought a set of hooker plates. Also not exacly what you need. Much nicer but does not place the engine exacly were I want it. Having a set custom made. Will post pics when done. He is pretty slow. Would you guys like to see aluminum or steel.
