Blackest ,Black?

i have read more things than i can remember , and i still cannot honestly say that i have found the best black to use .
I have been told so many different stories about which way to go and or lay it down , from paint types to ways of spraying .
I post this because several years back i had a car sprayed and ahead of time i asked the painter to spray it 2001 corvette black , ( i saw it and at the time thought it was the blackest i had seen) but anyway he said oh black is black , and guess what he used the black that he chose , not what i asked for .
TO this day i have never been happy with the car or the color , just doesnt look black enough .
I have also been told dont to a base clear because that takes away from the black and will sometimes make it look grey.
I am now in the process of getting prepared to paint my two cars , and i am going to go with the same exact paint on each , and i only want to do it once , and be happy , who can help?

Dupont Jet Black 99 - original color of my car (once restored in 1990 - first picture is 17 year old paint). Painting it same Dupont - very black to me (second shot is the main car - not buffed, then a first stage buffed firewall). I've now first stage polished the whole main car and a painter who's now 74 and has been painting cars for 50 years said "It's sure black". Base/Clear was done on the outside in 1990 with single stage jambs/under hood/trunk. I'm doing the whole car in base/clear. Black isn't the same as the next black (or at least there can be subtle differences) .. can have stronger green, red, blue characteristics.

Here is a question. I will use dupont as the example. All Paints are made with toners, in chroma base there are h.s. toners (high strength) why cant you just use a high strength black throw some binder in it and spray that? Couldnt get any blacker than that could you?

duponts 9900s is straight out of the can with binder and balancer already in it and it is BLACK

diamont has d403 black that blows dupont out of the water...mixes with reducer and no balancer or binder to milk out the pigment. 403 is straight off the mixing bank.i am certified to spray ppg, dupont and diamont and i think diamont looks the best.also depends on the clear...the better the clear the better the end result.
