I have a customer here in England with a 2000 Chevrolet Astro van.

The problem i'm having is the brakes are over sensitive with the rears locking at the slightest touch of the pedal.

I know it runs a hydroboost system similar to BMW's.

has anyone got any sugestions?

All the chevrolet dealers can offer is ' book it in and we'll take a look'

great! if only I was 3000 miles nearer!

HELP!!!!

maybe the anti-lock sensors on the back.Or maybe the proportioning valve/combination valve is bad .(too much preasure going to the back and not enough to the front.

if it's a rear drum de-adjust them
calipers-the slid pins couls be dirty, keeping the caliper from fully releasing. or the combination valve is going bad.

I've had a few S-10's (same basic chassis as the Astro) and they've all developed rear braking problems over time, a rear brake job has fixed it everytime, replaced the shoes, springs and turned the drums and voila rear brakes that don't lockup at the slightest touch of the brake pedal....and they all had alot of material left on the shoes

my problems were more prominent when it was damp/wet outside also
