Yesterday my wife's brand new 2008 WRX was struck by a piece of ice/snow that flew off some guys roof. Why can't people just clean off their cars? The front bumper is now cracked by the lower fog light. Would a crack get fixed? Its a plastic bumper or will a new bumper get painted and put on. Does anyone know the cost involved? I hate to put a claim in. What a pain.....

A body shop can repair the crack. Even if there are chunks missing out of it.

semis are the worst ok i know they cant get on top and clean them but damn i was like frogger dodging some big chunks on sun morning on way home form work..
repairing cracks is possible but it would most likely be replaced if the crack is all the way through the plastic.
if it were my car I'd want it replaced.
BUT DO NOT ALOW THEM TO USE AN AFTERMARKET PART!! aftermarket parts are junk

The police pull over people where I live that leave snow on the roof so I don't think that happens here much. But it's the salt that ruins cars here.

Awww c'mon. That's one of the most entertaining things about driving in snow country for those of us who don't live in snow country.
Nothing like waking up in Tahoe to find a fresh dump on your car. Spending the day bombing powder stashes then setting up the pool with your buddies for when the big snow hamburger bun on top of the subie will finally come off the car.

I just had this happen to me .I'm still driving tha t TA since I'm spending to much time on the computer W/ you great guys and over at Dave"s new site . Anyway this big piece of Frozen snow like 9' x12'x3flips up about 20' in the air and crashes down from an incredible hang time, crashes on the windshield . I though it was comming thru! Hears the best part , the batt. cable had came loose on the car so the batt. was dead so I was driving the little ladys safari . ha ha And the windshield already had a crack. Had I been in my car , I know it would have hit the hood!

The crack is in a funny spot it follows the contour of the fog light housing....When the big old piece of ice acted like a knuckle ball. I know I saved the hood and grill...It could of been worse...
aftermarket parts in general are bad... this is why NOS body panels for a classic cars are so pricey. plastic can be tricky to repair.
