I'm brand new to this site. I am beginning to work on my 69 Camaro again and need to install a new dash panel. Car is completely gutted. A friend of mine suggested a metal adhesive along the base(under the windshield) and welding along the corners and top of dash. Any thoughts? Ever tried this?

Hi Mike,
Welcome to the site!

I didn't use metal adhesives when I did my dash but maybe someone else can add their advice.

It sounds like a good idea; I would just be worried about the strength of the product. Everyone hates getting a cracked windshield! :pat:

I wouldn't use adhesive either. I didn't repace the upper dash on my 67, but I needed to reweld it, and I never considered adhesive. Even the best adhesives loose effectiveness over time.

I drilled holes and filled them in with a weld.. Sort of like you see on tv cept i don't have the hole puncher tool. this way you can sand them flat
