I don't know the dimension off hand, but the Porsche 996 use radial mount calipers versus the C5/C6 axial mount design of the pad abutment brackets and similarly the C6 Z06 M-series calipers from PBR? Apples or oranges unless I'm missing something.

yes, the 996 brakes are mono block like the Z06. If I have to make a bracket, I dont mind.

Just because both of the calipers are "mono-block" doesn't make them the same...or even very similar to each other. The Porsche 996 caliper doesn't have mounting "ears" like the C6 Z06 calipers have or like the C5/C6 pad abutment brackets have (128mm center to center). The Porsche 996 calipers are radial mount, meaning that the caliper is located by radial studs, not axially oriented fasteners.
I assumed that you were going to make a bracket, however the difference in mounting widths won't matter since you'll be making it custom for your application.

if you want Porsche calipers with "ears" you can do as I did and use C ayenne calipers. they are six pistons and made by Brembo.

Try calling these guys: http://www.electro-dynamics.com/
They make parts to install porche rotors on C4 vettes, maybe they have something for C5/6's also. They might be able to answer all your questions.
