Help me! there is a newer black z28 camaro down the street from my work, sitting under a tree with mold growing all over it and four flat tires. I have not been able to actually stop and look but is there any external clues that would be able to tell me if it is an ls1 car? I would greatly appreciate any help.

You mean a 4th gen car? The LS1 cars were 98+ and are different from 93-97 LT cars mainly in the headlights. The LT cars have 2 rectangular headlights per side and the LS cars have sealed enclosures.

Hope that helps.

Or to clarify a little more, if the headlamps are recessed, it is an LT1 car. If they are flush with the hood and bumper, it is an LS1.

It is a popular swap to put a 98+ front end on an LT1 car. But I've never seen the opposite.

Frankly I've always like the LT cars more than the LS versions... but I'm a bit twisted that way.
