Hello everyone.

Just created a CarDomain page for my wagon project. Check it out! [Link in my signature] It's still in the early stages, but...let me know what you think. If you have a CarDomain account, Rate It and sign the guestbook!!! Please, and thanks in advance.

Enjoy!

Well...thanks for the input guys. I need a little more help now. I'm really considering a project name change. Project G-Wagon is too bland. Lookin' for sumthin short and sinister.

Which one's better??:
1. Trepidation
2. Hellion
3. Reverence
4. Other...Suggest somethin'!

Thanks.

Wagons do rule!! Haha. Sorry to hear about the accident. Just ordered a bunch of valvetrain parts from Summit today. Degreein' the cam tomorrow. Hope to button up the motor and finish detailin' the engine compartment this weekend. Check back for pics!

Had another "mini-Christmas" today. :twothumbs Recieved all my valvetrain parts that I needed, and some ignition stuff.

Hope to order a Summit ignition box in a couple days. Has anybody had any experience with them??

I would say order yourself an MSD and save yourself some Ache in the long run. They're proven and work great for any application. Sure, it's a bit more money but I had to come to terms with it as well, and I'm glad I did. It was worth the money.

I'd spend the extra on it any day of the weak if I had to do it again.

That was the plan in the beginning, but I know a couple people that had MSD boxes that died after a while (a year or so)...twice (the original, and the replacement). I was thinkin' about tryin' the Crane Fireball HI6 CD Ignition box, too.

I completely agree. You can get away with a lot of the "Summit" parts but I would go with the MSD on this one. I had one on my wagon for a year and it was on my buddies truck for at least a year and a half before that with no problems.

Does anyone have any opinions on other ignition box brands??? Or is MSD, "the way to go"??

Well, since the car isn't ready for the motor...I had to take some pics of the top-end after I painted the heads.

-Speed density TPI
-BBK Throttle body
-World Sportsman II Heads
-eBay valve covers. :ssst:

As for the ignition box dilemna...I think its down to either the Mallory HyFire 6 or the MSD Digital 6.

Hope to get a fuel system for Christmas!!

Thanks,

Mallory and MSD are both excellent companies. you might also look into Pertronix for some stuff. They're fairly well known also. I'd just avoid Accel like the plague, as they seem to be fairly cheap from my past experiences.

Anyway, good lookin project, can't wait to see it come along more!

Worked on the motor tonight. Got the bottom-end torqued and the head studs in. Here's a pic of the progress.

I definately want to go with a Copper/Orange color, but still tryin' to decide on a solid or two-tone.

That looks great. I vote for solid. But try flipping the colors on your two tone. I think the black on top might look cool too.

I really like the two tone paint myself. I was going to do a charcoal grey over burnt orange on mine. The motor looks great as well.

Had to bring this thread back from the dead to post some updated infromation.

The motor is assembled, just waitin' on some oil drain fittings before I put the oil pan on. Everything is on the CarDomain page.

I just finished an interior concept drawing. I was havin' a tough time deciding how I wanted to do it, but I think I've found the answer. Let me know what you think.

Looks good. I would go darker on the seats if they were mine but they don't look bad by any means!

Just an FYI..The MSD 5 & 6 boxes are analog boxes......The Summit and the Mallory are digital boxes...Msd does offer digital boxes but they are quite a bit more money...Do some research and don't let the prices fool you on the Summit and Mallory......My .02cents.....Jim
