I am hoping to get some advice from those that have been to Hot August Nights before, since I'm sure many of you have your hotels of choice and also know about those to avoid. It's our first year so we need to get some input on where to hang our hats. What do you guys think?

Thank you in advance,

Jeff

Hotels that hosted show 'n shines were the Peppermil Hotel, Atlantis Resort, and the Grand Sierra (formerly the Hilton).

staying in sparks is a good idea as well, maybe at the Nugget or try to find a time share for the week, they can be pretty cheap. Finding a room might be a challenge even now due to most people that go every year always register for the following year while they are there.

Ok, will look into the Sparks possibility. Anyone else have a favorite go-to hotel for this event that I should be calling?

We stay at the Atlantis every year. It has a great cruise-car show that is well lit and well run. It is on Virginia street, walking distance to the Peppermill car show and right next door to the convention center where they have the Silver auction.

HIlton is where we stayed last time we went which was a few years back, I guess it's the Grand Sierra now. But they have nightly cruises, etc. It's home base for the show. However, we had more fun staying on Virginia street since that is where the main cruisng happens, and it's the "strip" as far as all the action is concerned. Have fun, we use to go with a big group of guys and party all week. It's a good vacation type show.

Peppermill was good for us. Close to Virginia Street happenings and a quick jont on the interstate to the old Hilton. If you want just cheap rooms, the Days Inn near Virginia and down town had very reasonable rates even during Hot August Nights.
