I would like to hear some recommendations on shops in the Northeast. I live in the Rochester NY area and I'd like to be within driving distance to check on the progress without much difficulty. The plan is to have a road racing capable suspension utilizing a C6 Vette IFS/IRS without the transaxle .

Thanks,

I can't help you with a shop, but had to let you know how killer the photo-chops look. It looks like the body will be sectioned, is that in the plans? Very cool. Good luck with the build.

Boyd,

You are right, Allkar did a great job and his hard work really gave me the direction I needed for the look of the car.

No plans to section it, that could just be the effect the chop is giving.

Thanks for the compliments.

Not sure how far you are willing to drive but there is a shop by me (Central NJ) that is pretty well known and builds some crazy stuff.

Rob Ida, www.robidaconcepts.com.

Won Sema awards and been mentioned in many magazines and on TV. Never had anything done by them yet though, but have seem some of their cars before.

Rick at Northern Fabrication did my suspension and I can't say enough good things about his workmanship, knowledge and prices. He is located in Canton, CT. Good luck, the picture is killer. Randy

We got a chance to talk with the original poster-really nice guy.

He is only interested in someone who has had experience in doing C6 Vette IFS/IRS conversion. (and I mean a few of them ).

Skip- whats the progress on your dream ride?IM sure everyone who has seen the post would love to know if you located a shop and if the job has been started yet- maybe some great pics?

Lenny,

Thanks for the compliment.

Hope all is well with you.

I haven't been aggressive yet in trying to find a shop who has put together a C6 based chassis set up for some track use, so its still wide open at this point. I may have to wait 6 months to a 1 year. Some shops have C6 based pro-touring style chassis projects underway now. Obviously I want to see how they perform before I buy their set up.

I haven't been aggressive yet in trying to find a shop who has put together a C5/C6 based chassis set up for some track use, so its still wide open at this point. I know there a lot of good shops out there and on this forum though.

Glad to hear that this awesome job is still up for grabs. Call me if you want to. Im still open to chatting more... (of course!)

Skip,
Not that I have had any work done at Chop Shop, I can say that they do nice work. They brought a pro-touring 67 Camaro to a local show that was still a work in progress. The guy I talked to was really cool too. I might have some pic's to show there detail.
Good luck
Bill
