"The smell that surrounds youuuuuuuuuu"

Anyhow, Dad and I started digging in on his 70 chevelle. It was in storage inside a garage for about 7 years i think. Anyhow the interior naturally smells like mold/mildew. The actual shape of the interior is very good, it just has a smell and a bit of surface mildew here and there, nothing too bad though. I was wondering if there is anyway to get this smell out without completely going through the interior and replacing everything? Is there a product to get rid of this? He is eventually going to do the interior but wanted to wait a few years until everything else is done. What say you? Is there somthing I can do here, any suggestions to rid this gem of its pungent odor?? Any help will be great, thanks

There are types of liquid alive bacteria that will eat it. Most remediation supply places have it. Look into a local cleaning supply or tool rental place. There's usually one for every big town, a place where all the carpet cleaners and janitors get their supplies. (search google for your city's name and janitorial supply) and then ask for some. Shy away from anything with bleach, as it will ruin whatever you put it on, save for vinyl.

That's my two cents anyway.

Pretty good advice.
I own a couple carpet cleaning operations.
I would find a reputable steam cleaning company that uses live enzymes and have them treat the affected areas before and after cleaning. Enzymes act like little "pac men" gobbling up the odor causing bacteria. The enzymes will continue to do their thing until the materials completely dry.Remember that the enzymes will only work on bacteria that it directly comes in contact with. So make sure that the cleaners post spray the affected areas thoroughly. Use bleach on any material that will not be adversely affected by bleach as it is an excellent product for eliminating mold/mildew.
Good luck.
