Is there a way to do an inexpensive manual rack and pinion in a 68'-74' Nova? I have to think there is just based on the fact that its the same front suspension as a 67-69 camaro. Just curious is theres somthing out there??

correctly, no. With the new box technology out there its just not cost effective any more. Proper way to engineer a rack on these cars is to build a frame around it.

Im not knocking aftermarket racks but after trying ALL the kits out there, none felt better or close to a Lee box. If you want to put your money out there Unisteer was the best working kit.

ill help out since im a newbie, i normally troll nova sites

the rack and pinion i have on my car is one step from being thrown in the trash,,,my car is lowered significantly and i have about 2" from where the rack meets the ground...i have heard unisteer is a better rack, but i have meet someone with rack to oil pan issues, so take that info for what its worth

get the tom lee box, hands down youll be happier, if you can spend the extra coin on the 670 box just because it will clear about all headers..

good luck

With factory sub-frames, a steering box is the right answer.

The aftermarket clips (DSE, AME, 21st Century, etc.) all modify the mount points of the LCA to accommodate a rack.

especially they are moved to steer from the front, but for those that caint afford the big front clips the lee box is the way to go.
