NOOOOO!!!!!!! now im not so sure i wanna see the movie.....i have the first 2 seasons on dvd (original series)... i read that the made for tv movie was going to be put out first and if it gets a good response from that, then they'd give the series a green light...

I can understand them using the Mustang. There is no current Firebird on the road right now and you don't want to use the original car or a 4th gen because they're too dated. However...they need to do more to that Mustang to make it more distinctive. All it has right now is just that dancing red light. Give it some unique wheels or a unique spoiler or something to set it apart from the production cars. The show is destined to fail anyway. I looked up the cast members and they're all nobodys. Soap Opera actors. The role of an antagonistic FBI agent going to the daugher of Sidney Poitier is probably the most vexing. Horrible casting. And casting is half the battle in the film industry.

Hey I'm just glad their using an American car. But lets move this one over to the "Outhouse".

The should get the 09 camaro and "change" it to look trans-am-ish.... the reason they originally chose the transam is because the 3rd gen f-bodys were getting ready to debut and they looked "futuristic" and unlike anything else on the road... the same would apply to the new camaro...

I used to love that show as a kid. No Firebird, then no movie.

Wow they really missed the boat with the new KITT. I thought it was bad enough that it was a mustang. I'd prefer a stocker looking mustang over that turd they made. My guess is someone thought George Barris made cool cars.

WOW the KITT rendering above is Badass! They could have bothered to something like that if they got a hold of a new Camaro, which I'm sure is possible with the right $$$ and pledge to advertise.

I did see the Mustang KITT which I wouldn't mind all that much if it didn't look like CRAP! Whats with the odd double rear spoiler? and tinting on the rear quarter windows that looks like it was done by a MoNkeY?!

O well, the Firebird is too good for this series anyhow! especially with Hasselhoff, they should substitute a hot chick instead + firebird! Now THAT might be a show worth watching.

I'm willing to give the new kitt a chance. Even though I *hate* the rear spoilers. At least it isn't a import car. Compared to the fire bird, the mustang looks huge and muscular.

How hard would it have been to take a next gen camaro, throw on a set of quad headlights and call it a retro trans am? they built a camaro for the transformers movie using a gto shell. Why not make a trans am too?

Ah well. Just upper tv show execs out of touch with what the people really want. If they did their homework. they would realize that GM fans watch the show and want to see a trans am.

Whats next... Smokey and the Bandit with a supra????? The dukes of hazzard with an Eclipse??? Starksy and Hutch with a VW Bug??? Oh the humanity....

i have to agree, the mustang looks great but it should be a TA or a camaro. it's like re-making the old route 66 show and using a saturn. and why don't they just put in a super or tubocharged engine or a turbine. pick one! hell, they could have just gotten a corvette and gone with no mods.
