Dang fine camaro you got there. Looks great. I love the Z06 wheels. What did you have to do to get them to fit? Any spacers or anything? I've always loved those wheels and have thought about them for my 73. Great second gen.

G28 has really opened my eyes to these cars. Just goes to show you, with a little effort every car can be cool. Nice job with this one. And yes...I'll bet that LS6 is a blast.

I think your car looks great, but looking at the pics again. I think it would look better if you painted the bumpers and headlight buckets white like the body color.
Sorry, not trying to be negative. I really like your car, just think that would help.

Really? I kinda liked the black... seems everybody paints them body color... the black seemed a cool contrast to me.

Yeah, I know. I'm a fan of body color bumpers vs contrast. I think project G28 looked 10x better with painted bumpers at SEMA.

That car is GORGEOUS !!!! But I wouldn't like the bumpers body color with my paint scheme ...white would make the bumpers look bigger...that's the last thing I'd want to do !!! But on a darker car it looks great ...just my .02.

That car is sweet!!!! I would love to hear some transplant details. I'm going to go look at a donor car sunday with a ls1/t56 for my 71. Still undecided if this is the route i want to go. I never messed with these lsx motors. Guess you can say i am a little chicken.

Very nice.. nicest big-bumper second gen I've seen.. Where are you located?
Also, I agree the painting the bumpers body color would help them blend.
Really like the car though.. nice job!

I like your car, nice job! Only suggestion that I have (and i'm not hatin) is lose the exhaust tail pipes, hide them if possible. Great job

That's one of the details unfinished.... I'm going to angle cut ( stock) and polish. I was looking at so many different tips ... I just couldn't find one that I liked - not a big fan of the no tail pipe look.
Kinda want it to look as much of a sleeper as possible - no 'Hey I got an LS6 under the hood ' license plate. I do realize it's an uphill battle though with the C6 Z06 brakes and C5 Z06 wheels . Again thanks for the kind words ...it's really taken me by surprise.

:hmm: That is a 76.
Yeah, painted bumpers on 74-77s are often an improvement.

I to say the least am impressed with your car, I will be very interested to see how it progresses as time goes on, I think you have the body worked out nicely, allthough I do agree that the bumpers would really go alot better white. Allthough id leave the headlight buckets black. I really think you have a good solid build there. It is definately a car that will be worth sinking more money into.
Here is a pic with white bumpers.

Look's good Nick. Well done. You really need to take a step back and just enjoy driving it for a bit. Quit comparing it to the supercharged 'vette and just enjoy it for what it is.
I can't believe you're thinking about selling it, but to each his own. I'll start the bidding at $500 as-is :P...it is a '74 afterall and would make a good stable-mate to my schizophrenic '74 Nova project. In any event, someone is going to end up with a sweet ride.
Congrats,
Tobin

Love it!!! I think you are right...the black bumpers are a nice contrast with the other black accents to tie it in to the overall look, but I don't think it would work with any other body color. If it was mine I think the only things I would add/change would be a mesh insert for the scoop opening and I would swap the steering wheel for one out of a 1978 to 1981 Z28 (just a personal taste thing...love those rough wraped stock Z28 wheels). Nice work!

I realy like it! Im sorta digging the black bumpers and trim rings, though i do respect rybars thoughts on the white. I think the black blends well with the windows. Either way there is no dening that it is a really clean pro-touring 2nd gen.

It sold a few months ago to a marine who's gone back for another tour in Iraq. Unfortunately, it is missed, but I'm doing a 67 RS for someone LS1/4L60E. Will post some pix when time permits. Thanks again for the kind words on my " big bumper" ride.

Im a long time lover of the 74-80 camaro. I've always thought that the bumper problem could be solved by a simple two tone. Much the way that ART does on most of its cars. Paint the bottom body color, and the top half black. Then the width of the bumpers gets cut in half.
G28's bumpers could have been improved on this way. Too much of a color can be a bad thing.
Looking at this car just reaffirms my desire to do one of these cars. I'd sell my vair to build one like this one and wouldn't even feel sorry. Sweet car.

$23k seems like a great price for the car, especially with that engine...

Naturally I think so , I needed the $ so it had to go...it was priced to sell... Rich at Cal cars was surprised when I told him how much I wanted ...he thought I was gonna say $30-35 k.... but I know it's only a 74 ....I think that's a lot for a 74 . I'm proud of it , but gotta move on.:Alchy:
