Not to be a spoil sport but what is so great about an automatic equiped car doing a burnout or any car using a line lock / trans brake to smoke the tires? I mean my grandmother can do that in her 81 Catalina. There really is no skill in standing on the brake and pumping your right foot.

I find it much more "interesting" when a car smokes the tires at takeoff w/o the use of a brake or a car smoking tires between shifts or north of 20mph. That is a true display of power - otherwise all you are doing is something almost any car can do.

IMO this is impressive and is truely a "show of power"....

I like the Top Fuel style burnout - up in smoke and the car moving until it gains traction. Line loc on sitting and roasting them does nothing for me. Use the line loc for a few seconds to get them burning, then let it roll. Looks cooler.

Yep, I just let out the clutch, no line lock on the car, and hit it, shifted into second ( when photo was shot ) then ran out of parking lot in a hurry. Steve the owner showed up after the first one and had me do another, you can see the first one on the pavement in the photo. Ahhhh good times.

Sorry, had it not been for the other cars on the road, I might think so. A back road means different things to different people. Streetlights? traffic? etc. make for a more public road.

Do we just want vids of people revving their engines in the driveway? no. There are loads of us that can find tracks, or at least parking lots to get stupid in. There's more than enough videos of us here to prove that.

We HAVE to project a image of a "car club" that follows the rules of the road as much as possible. People search this message board to find out just who we are when we are looking for permits to have a function in a town. Imagine that. The reason we couldn't have an event would because we promote videos of OUR members breaking the law. How much would that suck?

I realize it sucks and is boring. I know how we all actually drive. But so long as Larry wants us to project that image we will enforce that rule.
