I am about ready to order my drivetrain for my 70 Chevelle Project but need some help with a few things. I used an iron block 6.0 out of a HD 2500 Truck that was backed with a 4l80e. I plan to keep the 80e and bolt it to a crate ls2. The LS2 description says it comes with a flywheel for an automatic transmission but what else will I need? I plan to buy a new converter but am not sure what else ill need to make it work.

If your using an iron block 6.0L where does the LS2 come in? How are you planning to control the 4L80E?

I suggest using a stock ECU and harness for an automatic transmission. If you want to use something like a Twist Machine paddle shifter, then you have to get a standalone transmission controller.

Sorry i should have been more specific. I used the iron block and the 80e for mock up in my frame. I will be using the 80e and bolting it to a brand new LS2. I will be using a stock ecu and harness most likely from speartech.

Take the adapter spacer, and flexplate off the 6.0 you will need it on the LS2. The converter would be fine unless your wanting to get rid of the spacer ring. Is that why your changing converters? I would try www.currentperformance.com (http://www.currentperformance.com) on the harness. I have used both and the Current Performance harness is a lot nicer, for the same money.

Ill check that out.

Im just looking for something a little stronger in the converter, and maybe a little more performance orieneted.

Thanks for the info.
