So ive been looking at reconfiguring my rear suspension setup this winter. The car has already been minitubbed. Im going to move my shocks inward, add rear discs, narrow my rear end a bit and have my axles trimmed and resplined. So ive been looking at how much tire I could fit in the rear if i moved my leaf springs inboard a bit and I ran across this piece. http://www.detroitspeed.com/productpages/indproduct/rearsuspensionprod/offset_shackles_prod.htm
Ive never relocated springs before so this may be a simple question but ....

The product discription dosent say anything about relocating my front spring attachment point. It just says that you need to install these and toss a 315 series tire in there. Are they assuming you know that you have to move your spring attachment point?? Wouldnt this throw the rear spring geometry out of wack if you just moved the rear of the spring over?? Is it really as easy as tossing these in and relocating your spring pertches on your rear end? This seems way to easy to me and I would think it would screw up my rear spring geometry. Anyone done this before?

i asked kyle that question a while back..he said that they are angled from the factory..when you move the rear shackles in 2" it will be straight

Yes, this is true the spring are closer in the front than the rear as is the frame rails, which is why you only notch the rear frame section during minitub and only move the rear of the spring inboard, u can easily make the shackles your self if you have a torch and a bench vise, i use 2in wide by 1/4in thick flatbar, heat-bend-cool-drill holes.

We did this with Landrum leafs which are narrower than stock leafs and aluminum spacers. Stock front perch and a stock configured rear shackle. We were able to still use the stock gas tank. Im running 315's on 11" rims. http://hometown.aol.com/gumbydmit22/minitub.html
