Been trying to decide on tires for quite some time now.
As such I'd appreciate hearing from people who are running either the Nitto NT555s or the Kumho SPTs and get their opinions on them.
The Nittos are a bit pricier... are they worth the extra coin.
Also any pics of these tires mounted would be great.
And finally, since Tire Rack doesn't carry the Nittos, where's a good place to get them online?
Thanks!

I just put the nitto nt555's on my vette and I'm impressed... they were about 1/2 the price of the michilin pilot sports and some of the other higher end tires offered and they handle great and are quiet. I punished them on Lime Rock's road course right after putting them on and they were a lot stickier than the goodyears that were on the car, hardly any sliding at all. I still prefer the look/tread on the BFG KDW's (old design not KDW2), but since I couldn't get them in time for the vette I've been real happy with the nittos.

Thanks for the info... I like the BFG KDWs too, and may still get them, but I am looking for a more affordable alternative (hence the Nitto/Kumho comparo).
Where did you get your Nittos?

$500!!!!!???? How did you get such a great price on all 4 shipped? Did you call them up and negotiate a better price? I'm looking at $620 for two 275/40/17s and two 285/40/17s.

They did have the $100 off deal not long ago - I wish they would have it again!

Local tire place- Tire Depot- Bristol, CT; He is a tire-rack installer too, but I find I do better buying from him than tire-rack. I'll take some pics on the vette too. For what it's worth I paid $650 mounted, balanced including tax (17/18's)
I'm rocking a set of yokohama es100's on my dd. Fantastic tire for dry weather and amazing in wet. Tread wear is 280 aa/a. If you are after a softer compound the avs sport would work. I got a set of 245/50/16 for $140 a piece, which is really low for an odball size.
Just a suggestion.
