First question is do you know what you dont need? I ask cause its as easy as going through the connectors and matching them up to all the components and then remove those wires from the harness. You can ditch all of the emissions crap and the ac, keep everything else. Canister purge, AIR (if it has it) Egr stuff ect. can go. Bare bones to work is the 02, injectors, coil and distributor, air temp, water temp and map. Plus you need to retain the wiring for the fuel pump relay, cooling fan relays, DLC and MIL. The rest of it can hit the trash. You can lop the connectors off but the right way to do it (not to mention the long way) is to split open the harness and remove all the wiring from end to end and depin it from the ECM connector or cut the stuff out at the ignition splices and ground splices. Remember if you do split it open keep the harness loosely tape in the shape it is or youll end up with a big mess that Im pretty sure that you wont wanna deal with.. What i do is take off the split loom and use a razor blade to split the tape open. Then I remove the tape and run a loop of new tape around the harness every foot or so and at all the breakouts. This allows you to fish the wires out one by one without the whole thing turning into spagetti. THEN set it in the car and see where you need to lengthen or shorten it to fit nicely, this is where most guys stop and refuse to spend the time on this. I assure you that if you can resize the harness to fit your car itll look a million times better. Most guys cant though due to lack of skills in that job which takes a considerable amount of time and they set it in the bast they can and hook up the power and grounds and be on their way. oh yeah and put fresh split on it looks way better than reusing 12 year old stuff. Thats the low down on how to do it. lemme know if you got any questions
