OK, I am working on a 64 riviera, want to lower it and coil springs for these in dropped heights arent that cheap. So i was thinking air bags.
Now I dont want a car that can bounce up and down or fall to the floor when I stop via a button, just want something on all 4 corners to replace the coil springs that I can set at the height I want and then leave it.
I have seen a bunch of universal units on ebay, wondered if anyone has had experience with air bags, and could point me in the right direction.

Boy are you in the right place to answer this question. Someone will be along with WAY more knowledge than I have for you. I'd just like to mention that, contrary to the way they are sometimes used air springs are meant to provide a designed spring rate at a designed height. They aren't really meant to work properly at a variety of heights by airing them up and down. Not to mention the effect that has on your wheel alignment. So the way you want to use them should be right. Maybe I'm in a minority but I don't like to see cars "aired out" on the ground at a show. They look broken to me, especially when they show a lot of negative camber. I like cars at design height, especially when that design height is LOOOW.

I've used the AirRide Technologies setup and that's probably the easiest way to go. The generic kits on ebay tend to be just that. Too generic. My .02.

Call Air Ride and you won't be disappointed. Those cars (Rivi's) are pretty easy to put their CoolRide system on for a pretty reasonable price.

They are good people too, so they'll help you out and get you the right stuff.

Nick, we are in the same boat. I think i my go with Air ride for the front & coilovers for the rear. I'm also in the market for a suspension that sits low on all corners but on the ground. I think shockwaves if you order the right ones will get low but not rest on the ground(but I'm not sure of this). Maybe someone from there will post here with some info.
