Where's a good source for sheet metal? I cut open the trans tunnel on my Chevelle to fit the TKO. Now I'd like to fabricate a new tunnel but I can't seem to find a source for sheet metal. Thanks.

Depending on how big a sheet you need you can try places like Ace Hardware, Home Depot, and Lowe's. Or call your local welding supply company. Most sell sheet metal andother metal fab stock.

Pass performance advertises at Lateral G and he sels all the Classic Chevy 5 speed parts, including the tunnel repair I believe.

When I cut the tunnel on my camino I just bought a set of front half floor pieces, welded the tunnel together, left some extra metal on it and used that as my new tunnel. It basically added a couple inches of height to it but it has the same shape with minimal fabrication. I think the floor pieces were $46 per side.

Thanks for the help. I ended up with a 24x24 piece of 16 ga from Tractor Supply. It was $30 and I'm sure that was expensive. Here's a pic of the hole and of my custom "fabbed by me" tunnel...

It's not the prettiest thing out there, but once it gets covered with Fat Mat and carpet I'm sure it'll look ok.
