It think most run a 35 series, but I would like to see that a 40 series look like specifically on the 1st Gen. (On a second gen I think they look great, but I wonder if they look too big on a 1st.).

Id roll the fenders, and use a hammer on the inner fender well and try to squeeze 305 tire in there, then i would be happy. But other then that, yes i love the extra traction.

I bought Eastwood's fender lip roller to do my "lips" and I remember reading a thread where Steve(?) of Twist Machine, talked about "micro-tubbing" the rear of his '68 Camaro.
So I pretty pettery much followed that. 5 lb sledge to the inner wheel well (undercoating in a can to hide it) and rolled lip.
I can't remember but I think he ran a 285 rear tire, I was cautious and went 275.
What would I do different??
1. 285 tire on a 10" rim
2. practice with the fender roller on a different car first
3. watch were I placed my thumb!!!

Maybe the 69's do have more fender room then the 67' 68'. I can tuck 285s on a 9.5 wide rim under the stock wells with no mods. and an 1-1/2" drop.

Not sure about the difference.
When I ordered by wheels, Frank at Prodigy, strongly suggested a 9 or 9.5 wide wheel, but being hard headed I had to have a 10" wide rim.
The backspacing was good, could fit my fingers between the wheel and metal but under hard cornering I did get the slightest bit of rubbing, evident by the fresh undercoating taken off.
But that was before, I added the DSE 3" drop leafs, poly bushings and QA1 shocks.
Things could be different now.
Might have gotten away without rolling the fender lips, but didn't want to chew up new Toyos.
