On my last post of the slowest running project in the world....I had just installed 2" lowering blocks as a mock-up for determining how much drop I needed. Since then I have dearched my GW leafs and took one full coil out of the front 620# GW springs....me like the stance.

My original steel Ford hood with molded on 67 Shelby scoop is at the shop being painted by Ron Moore at Moore Restorations in Keller TX...what happened to the hood that got painted with the rest of the car? It’s a long embarrassing story that I do not care to repeat…

Now I am gathering up all of the pieces I need to build an exhaust system. I have Flowmaster tail pipes and Delta 40 cans along with a generic x-pipe and some prebent tubing. I am about to purchase a small mig to fab the exhaust myself from the headers (JBA shorties) to the mufflers. I will need the welder in the future for the custom fabbed rear coil-over conversion...so I can get me some of them 315's…

Lookin' really sharp! I'm trying to decide on my next project and an early Mustang is definately in the running (shhhh... don't let my Camaro know).

On the welder, if you plan on doing chassis fabrication you might want to go with a more powerful unit. Check in the fabrication forum for lots of info on it. I just got a Miller 175 (a 230v unit).

Wow! That looks really fantastic. I like the stance a lot as well. Beautiful and sharp and subtle... a nice combination.

great looking mustang. check out B Cichocki's coupe as well:

my stupid hood story involves not latching it all the way and then reaching
about 35 mph...

boodlefoof: thanks for the sug on the welder....and I agree...however at this point I hesistate to spend too much of my current "mustang money" on tools so I am going with a used 115V Hobart Mig 135 for about $300...

the bolt circle is 5 on 4.5"....but did you not mean to ask the backspacing instead? If so then the rear is 17x9 with +20mm offset or 5.78" backspace + a 1/2" thick spacer and a 275/40 tire...in the front is the same wheel that has been narrowed by 1" and runs without any spacer and a 245/45 tire...

I can not find the receipt for the wheels....I do remember (its been about 6 years since I had this done) that I saw the add for the company in the back of Autoweek or some other mainstream car mag..

I keep getting tempeted to do a stang next but I'm a chevy guy. Maybe a Mustang with an LS1... hmmmm...

It sure wouldn't be the first Ford with a Chevy heart.

BTW.. VERY nice car, I'm sure you patience will pay off in the end.

I have a hood story as well so don't feel too bad.

Thanks, sould not be to hard to find someone if I need to do it. I have a hood story..drop shut the hood on my (now gone)325is...did not bother to give it a "up" grab. Go about 1/4 mile to the end of the road, pull out and up to 2nd about 40/45mph..WHAM..my hod wraps over my roof..blows glass all over the inside (glad I had my sunglasses on!).All was good...got a Carbon one to replace it,now I got a habit to give all hoods a "up" grab.

no i ment bc... because i know early mustangs are 4-1/4 whoch makes it nearly impossible to find good wheels for.... :banghead: atleast at a decent price...

Early 5 lug cars are still 5x4.5 or 114.3mm BC just like every other standard Ford. The early 4 lug cars are 4x4.25 late 4 lug are 4x4.5.
You cant find any wheels cause you are looking up a odball 5 lug BC....

I knwo this is an old thread, but I feel like contributing regardless.

Why not do a mustang with an 03 Cobra motor? That would be a wicked ride. You can however pick up an LS1 for a whole hell of a lot cheaper. A complete 4.6DOHC with the supercharger installed will run almost 10K
