My brother (who owns "provair" the pt corvair) has been distracted by the allure of fat tires and big blocks, hes getting close, and we spent all day putting his "car" back together. It looks cool. I was proud of it so here you go.

That thing looks like it means business, Tony. What times is he expecting/hoping to see out of it? Drivetrain details?

he's thinking 9s but im not sure. He has a 427 that he's had for years that was in a mini tubbed 57 chevy that ran high 11s. He's going to be updating that engine with all the latest goodies. He still is talking to the engine builder guy to find out what he'll need. The trans is going to be a powerglide. Its got willwood brakes at all four corners, Chris alston chassis works everything. Most of the chassis was assembled in house and was gone over by dennis sarmento, a chassis guy who lives right down the road.

Awesome!

I've been thinking of building a similar frame for my next project. Do you know how he's going about attaching the body to the frame? That is one of the points I'm unsure of...

Car looks great. One question, he has real slicks, hoping for nines, but there are no door bars on the cage, how come? I thought maybe he had swing out bars, but I can't see any attachment points.

Are you planning on attending Super Summit this year?

actually the door bars are the swing out ones, they are going to be attached later, the chassis shop needs the body on the car to determine the correct height and angle for the bars to work properly. So they get added after the fact and "spotted in"

The body connects at the large square tube behind the "seat line" the small 1" pipe up by the front down tubes. at the very front at the frame horns and at the rear. There are plates welded to the body to reinforce all the mouting points. Then the "floor" gets added to the mix and helps attach it as well.

Tony, is that cage mild steel or 4130? Also, is the car electron blue? The car looks bitchin' in that blue.

i believe its mild steel. Its 95 corvette blue. It has a technical name, not "blue" But even the pics don't do that color justice.

Nothing like a Nova with some skinnies and fat meats out back. Very nice, perfect stance!

Wow, I thought it was Admiral too, unless that's just another name for it.

admiral blue is "bluer" than this color. there's hints of purple in it. It has to be seen in real life. Pics just do not do this color justice. Its one of the prettyest blues out there. (to me)
