I enjoyed the article in PHR about the breather set up for the Chevelle. I just have a few questions. You no longer have a PCV valve, is that correct? Don't you need some sort of vacuum on the top end to "neutralize" the pressure inside the engine?
The reason I ask is because when I was dyno tuning my small block, I had a breather on one valve cover, and a PCV valve in the other, NOT hooked up. When I would make a pull, towards the end of my RPM, it would spit oil out the breather. I then hooked up the PCV line to the base of the carb, and that solved the problem. It seemed like that all my oil was being pumped up to my top end, and getting trapped there.
Do you not have that problem with the big block? I'm just asking because I'm in the process of doing all my plumbing, and was debating on what to do.
Thanks for any help or tips. Maybe I need an education on how a PCV system really works!
