Chevy engine weights

Hi all,

To continue planning my Chevelle I'd like to know the approximate weight of the following engines.
1. SBC all iron except intake manifold.
2. SBC iron block, aluminum heads and intake.
3. SBC all aluminum.
4. BBC all iron except intake manifold.
5. BBC iron block, aluminum heads and intake.
6. BBC all aluminum.

4. BBC all iron except intake manifold. = 665lbs
5. BBC iron block, aluminum heads and intake. = 600lbs
6. BBC all aluminum. = ?

Remember headers, long short water pump, ally water pump, steel or billet pulleys, electric fan, ally rad etc all make a difference. The only real way is to build what you want and weight it but these weights will get you close enough.

I know but with your numbers I'm able to get an idea of what several $$$ are worth weightwise.

LS1 should weight apprx. 390 lbs

I found out that an all-aluminum SBC is 355lbs.
