Thanks man, I have a 4 year old son and a 1 year old son. I have 4 min-pin dogs, I run a production shop out of Dads shed, That is also where I turn out some CooL custom work, every now and then. My wife has an excellent job and that is really helpful!

My Dayjob was sucking my will to live, I am 34 with 23 years in machining(The past 4 years I have had 2 jobs, so I count that double!) . I am a 13 year journeyman, I have been on CNC's since 1993. I will be a lead man, answer guy, setting up and programing production runs on 4 HAAS mills and 8 OKUMA lathes(Japanese JuNK!) I will have them all replaced with SL HAAS's as soon as I can! lol.

Having that said, it was still scary stepping out of my comfort zone, but I love a challenge! I am excited, not scared, the wife is pissed, lol, but she will have to get over that.

Machine shops are a dime a dozen, I just need to make 4 more years and my HAAS's will be paid in full!!!!!!! Then no more dayjob, NO CHANCE!!!!!!! If this shop sucks anymore out of me, I will be at the Home Depot or Lowes very soon!

Your job is what you do, not who you are! I will stay a free spirit!

Thanks again,
Kevin

I own a HAAS lathe and I love it, I have ran OKUMA's and they are fine? I just like HAAS's better!

I lost 4 jobs in 5 yrs, collected unemployment in 2 states 3 different times. tried some temp positions, sold cars for 5 months, worked 1 summer @ HD, did my own thing for 5 months too, general contracting. people ask me what is my 'field', I don't know, which one?
jobs come and go, believe me! but time w/ the wife and kids is priceless.

OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE!

Oh well, I lost my Grandpa this past weekend; that sucked! A heavy workload this week led to sleepless nights? I had a long talk with my new boss this morning at 3 am. He said " Kevin I see the craziest nutcase that can do anything with these machines that he wants to, I will not let you go anywhere anyhow! " He then told me to get some sleep. Well I feel better now and the job will go on! ARE Machine Products in Louisville is a great place to work! He even said I have incredible cad skills? I thought I was drawing blueprints with my computer, what the hell is CAD?lolol

I told him I probably am the craziest nutcase he ever met, lolol
