Hi all...I was wondering if you guys can point me to where I can purchase quite a few complete, brand new, Viper V10s. I'm working for a race team right now thats in the design stage of building a new car from scratch. One of the engines we are considering is this one, can't really say much more at this stage. Anyway, I've looked at the usual places like Jegs or Scoggin but they don't have any. Any ideas? And by quite a few I mean about 100 or so...

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply Rob! Unfortunately thats not what I'm looking for, I'm looking for brand new, new generation engines. The Jegs site doesn't specify what year the engine is however so that could be, although I assume its the previous generation. The other ones are last generation engines, and reman as well. See, this is the hard part cause these engines are so new. Maybe they aren't even available yet as crate engines...

Gen III engines are not offered as Crates anymore as far as I know.

Anymore? But they are brand new...I mean, its this years generation engine, so if anything it hasn't come out yet. :hmm:

Thanks for the classifieds idea Paul but I need more of a supplier type thing...we need 100 engines over 3 years. Plus i need all the elctronics with the engine too, a whole package kind of thing. I think maybe I'll have to go directly to Chrysler, but big companies are very reluctant to sell that many engines for liability reasons and/or because they want to get involved in the project to make sure that the engines run up to their standards.

I'll see if I can slip a picture in here for you guys so you can get an idea of what the project involves...although I might not be able to until its made public.

Try Ilmore engineering, they did the boat conversions to the Viper engines. Mopar won't sell a complete engine because they do want just anybody putting them into boats. We went though this about a year or so go.

Thanks Kevin for the Ilmor idea...they sound more like what I'm looking for. The places that part out cars and such don't really work cause I need brand new engines. After all we need to offer a warranty with these cars...

Kevin, when you went through that problem with Mopar, they didn't want to sell you the engine with the electronics, or the engine period?

Manuel,
They didn't want to sell us anything for a Gen 111.
We even tried few "back doors" like a engine for a comp coupe with no luck.
We did get a new gen 1 engine about 3 years ago for a V-10 Super Bee build. For that deal we used a Gen 11 ECM and sensors.

Thanks Kevin for the info...now, I was just looking at a schematic from Ilmor, and, well...is the V-10 really that big?? Damn! The other engine we are considering is a Mercedes V-12 and thats about 15 cm (5.9 inches) shorter! I'm really surprised its that long.

Anyway, if you don't mind could you tell me if there were any issues with the electronics on the V-10? I mean, as far as ease of programing, difficulty finding the ECU, and part compatability.

Thanks a bunch!

Hi all...thats for all the input so far on this. Just another quick question...does anyone know the actual dimensions of a Viper V10?

Thanks.
