Yes. A heartfelt thank you. I always think about my late Uncle Frank on Veteran's Day. He was a ball turret gunner on a B-17. Crazy guy...and little too. Looking at him it was obvous how he got asked to crawl into that thing. He had a lot of great stories about WWII. He was a tough old buzzard, just like those B-17's. I miss the hell outta that guy.

yep ..my grandfather served 37 moths in the pacific islands during WW2 and my brother was in the first gulf war..thanks to all that served this great country:usa:

Here's a shot of some guys doing my old "wartime" job. Rapid Runway Repair. Life expectancy on this job; 11 minutes in hostile territory. Nothing compares to being on a runway with planes taking off and landing right over the top of you.

Bagram, one of the best kept secrets in the world..........NOT! Nothing better than the constant smell of burning trash and every once in a while you get a surprise mortar attack. Spent way too much time there and know I will have many more in the future.

Respect to veterans and a Thank you - I unfortunately was denied entry the first go round - however my best freinds are Maine infantry, Force Recon Marine, and a USAF CCT - my brother is currently reserve CA national Guard

Today is the mark of the end of the World War I, we choose to remember all the veterans that came before, to those that now serve, and to those that will make the choice to serve our great nation in the future. We live in a country that allows us the freedoms to speak our minds, to assemble with whom we choose, to worship in any house of religion of our choosing, and to elect those that represent our voice in the government. Our nation has been blessed by those that have answered the call of our people when asked to serve; those Veterans have served in the highest honor. Some people have chosen to speak out against the conflict in Iraq but the soldiers have given the people of Iraq something that a lot in this country choose to not exercise or plain take for granted.......the right to vote. Whether you agree or not, honor the Veterans that choose to help those in need, and pray for their safe return home. There are not words that I or others can convey that can do proper justice to the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for us, but to say that I will remember you on all the days of the year, not just this one. Thank you and Godspeed.
