Well my car has been patchy for about three years and the body is starting to show it and since I have no money to get a shop to do it I'm gonna hit it up in my garage. I don't have a compressor or any air tools so I'm gonna have to do it manually, but I have to sand down the primer on the parts and cut away at some of the filler that is on the car. I was wondering what grit of sandpaper I should use to get down to the metal, what I should use to seal the metal, I have the filler and know how to use that, and what grit paper I should use to smooth the filler for primer. I have the general idea of what I'm doing and I have touched up some minor bits but I would like some advice before I jump in. Where are some good places to get the supplies? My buddy works at Home Depot in the paint section so I could probably get some stuff from there but if you guys have any other options post them up. Thanks in advance for the help.

well I would say 80 grit to get it to bare metal. finsh your filler work with 180. prime the bare metal with epoxy primer then go to a urethane primer for blocking. I would recommend going to a local auto paint and supply store for supplies.

Any particular epoxy primer? And with the urethane primer should I go with a high build primer and then block or block first then prime then block again? Figure I'm just gonna have to do what I have to till its straight, just want to make sure I get things right first.
