I ordered the brakes for my 68 camaro, and I got the hybrid Kit with 14" Z06 rotors but with a standard C6 caliper, and Im just wondering about the wheel fitment. The Z06 caliper sticks out more towards the wheels im guessing and thats why you need a spacer sometimes? Since I have the regualr C6 caliper will that help the wheel clearance issue? Im thinking 19"x8" Intro's... anybody with info thanks!

Here's a fitment template for a 355mm "Hybrid" setup from KORE3's site.
http://www.kore3.com/downloads/fitment_templates/DOC0017.pdf
The 2-piston C5/C6 calipers are just under an inch narrower than the C6 Z06 calipers.

If you haven't given Intro a call, that would be a good place to start so that you know what's available and what your options are.

With 19"s you shouldn't have any clearance issues as far as diameter is concerned. and the Kore 3 hybrid kit is .3 taller than it has to be, since you could use Z51 Carriers/Abutments with the same C5/C6 2pot caliper and use a .3 shorter caliper bracket which would move it down further onto the 14" Rotor, which would also be more effective in stopping the car and give you added clearance diameter wise which is what I'll be using.

As far as clearance issues you should contact the wheel manufacturer for info, a number of wheels such as the TT2's require a 3/16 to .5" spacer in order to clear depending on the curve of the spokes etc...

This statement is a bit confusing to me...you could make a mounting bracket that is 7.5mm [.295"] shorter than the KORE3 Hybrid bracket and run the C6 Z51 PABs which are the same amount taller if you wanted to, but the net result would be zero change in the position of the caliper relative to the rotor. Wheel fitment remains unchanged. Essentially, you've added the higher cost of the Z51 PABs to get the same end result if I understand you correctly. :hand:

I'm a little but confused here myself?? I'm looking at purchasing this kit for my 68. I have 18" Boyd Coddingtons on the car and I'm wondering if this setup will fit my car with no wheel clearance issues or other issues?? Does anyone know? I was under the impression that the C5 and normal C6 calipers worked fine with no issues, only the C6 Z06 calipers caused clearance issues?? Anybody got any help for me?:help!:

Follow the link in Post #2 and download the fitment template. You've already got the wheels, so it's as simple as printing out the template, affixing it to the back of a cereal box, cutting along the dotted line, and dropping it inside your wheel. If you run any adapters or spacers, check with those positioned on your wheel hub as that is what determines the relationship between your brake and the wheel.

My wheels clear the KORE3 "Hybrid" setup at 18 x 8.5 x 56mm offset, but they're OE C6 wheels and I run a 45mm wheel adapter which essentially makes my wheel offset 11mm instead of 56mm. This puts the caliper further into the bell of the wheel where it is larger diameter than if it were right out against the spokes.

Sorry I haven't been on here in forever, but nope just using the Z51 abutments and 14" Rotors. Just as the Z51 brackets allow for a slightly larger rotor than the base C5 or C6, (with the caliper in the same position) once you move the caliper out only .3 by use of custom brackets, you can then use it with the 14" Rotor as I'm doing on my Camaro. Kore3 on the other hand, at least the last time I spoke with them, uses the standard 2pot caliper bracket in order to save their customers money as they said, but of course that means the caliper is moved further out in their pre-made setup.

KORE3 uses different adapter brackets for the Hybrid kits...that's what makes them a Hybrid. The standard brackets are used for all of the factory C5/C6 configurations of rotors and calipers: 325mm w/ 2-piston C5/C6, 340mm w/ 2-piston C6 Z51, and 355mm w/ 6-piston C6 Z06.

The "Hybrid" brackets are used with the non-factory combination of the 355mm C6 Z06 rotor and the 2-piston, floating, Slimline PBR caliper.

The calipers are not "moved further out in their pre-made setup", they are positioned such that the pads properly sweep the rotors.
