I left this on my fuel rail and then plugged it into my intake but noticed that most people when transplanting the LS1 into their cars do away with the old fuel line and quick connect as well as this hose and canister that's taped to it. The cannister has another line off of it that plugs into the intake. I have noticed that this setup is absent on most applications and the fitting off of the intake is plugged. I'm curious....what the hell is it? Do I need it? And if not, does it need to also be deleted from my PCM in addition to removing it physically. Thanks.

yes it sets a code of its not on there so have it deleted out of the PCM. its a purge solenoid for the EVAP system, just throw it away.

Have the purge solenoid deleted or the EVAP system? Thanks A.J.

both, get the car running with out that stuff and when the codes set have them deleted out of there. they should set the very first time the car runs and get throught the emissions tests.

It is the purge valve for the evaporative emissions system, and it works with the charcoal canister, which I'm assuming your Camaro doesn't have. I would eliminate the valve and plug it like suggested. Whoever tunes your PCM will turn off the codes for the emissions stuff ( purge valve, secondary air, rear O2 sensors, etc.) and VATS (anti-theft) so it doesn't set a check engine light.

I've heard some guys say they would use it next time they did the swap. something about too much fuel smell if you dont.
