I'm exhausted.. beat.. sore.. between all the work meetings and "walkabouts" SEMA almost killed me. lol

It was great meeting so many of you, I only regret not having more time to hang out with more people. Seemed like I constantly had somewhere to go. At least I had some time to hang aroung my car.

Here are some shots, I will post more throughout the day. So many nice cars this year.

great pics Steve. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone have more info on the black camaro with the silver inlays and wing? What about the flat gray and green chevelle? Those two really did it for me. I'm also liking the wheels on the KD ZL1 camaro the more I look at it. Very smooth car. You guys did great Kenny.

I had two "do you what to sell? How much?" guys.. I said, "no, but if I got the right offer..." They took my card.

I had one guy say $100,000 and I said nope.. I really DON'T want to sell her. If I did I would just have to do this all over again and it's nice to have a cool car in the garage :)

I was there for one of them I think, Wednesday afternoon late. I meant to ask you if I heard him right.

It was good to meet you. Yours is one beautiful car. Hope mine is as nice someday.

Your car is completly bad ass... one of my favorites. And first on my list is trying to get it shot before your weather goes bad.

I know everybody on this forum compliments you on Penny but honestly from the pictures I have seen I she was easily my favorite car at sema, granted I wasnt there so I couldnt fully experience it, but it is just so perfect, the paint/wheel combination, the stance everything working together...Mr. Rupp, hands down you have built a perfect pro-touring car...in my eyes at least, I hope one day I can check Penny out in real life, maybe when I come check out colleges out in cali I will get a chance to check her out...regardless, I love you car and hope you dont sell her, I cant wait to see what you do with the fairlane, if that thing turns out half as good as Penny, it will be better than most cars out there...Keep up the good work!!!!!!

This car was built by Total Performance www.tpitotalperformance.com (http://www.tpitotalperformance.com) out of Wichita Kansas (bout 100 miles west of me). They are also building Eleanor mustangs as well. Talked with the guys a month or so ago and they are building 50 of these I believe with something like 10 with Nascar engines in them. I think they have 7 sold right now. This one had the Nascar engine but I believe they have an all aluminum 427 option. Awesome car - one of my all time favorites.

I have to say Penny is so basic yet over the top,old school yet new tech and of all the cars at the show Penny was the only one that had a new car smell, the carpet and leather had to be what was making it but it was amazing how it could have been on a show room floor 40+ years ago and not have been out of place.

Great job Steve!!!!

Thanks, you just made my week. That was exactly what I was going for a "high-tech old-school vibe". One were the car still felt like a '68 Camaro.

Are you sure I didn't cheat with a spray can of "new car smell"? lol

Loving all the ariel atoms. Looks like that car might be starting to get the respect it deserves. They had atom fest a few weeks ago at a roadcourse about an hour from my house and I keep kicking myself for not going...

Steve, did you get to keep the "Wilwood" banner that was hanging over your car? BOS did a great job on Penny and I'm sure they'll take care of my '67.

No, that travels with thier booth. Also, it was CRAZY expensive.

Soon I should have the file hosted for the other shop banner with my car on it though. That way anyone that wants on can download it and then have one made at a sign shop.

And yes, Best Of Show did a great job on the car, I'm sure they will put the same care into your '67. Now that my car is outta there they are hard at work on it.

Here's what that banner looks like:

Thanks for all of the pic's!

I was looking at one of the pic's you posted of the 57 Chevy and noticed the detailing of the underside of the hood. Looks pretty tricked out. If my eyes don't deceive me, the air filter is actually attached to the underside of the hood instead of the carb. It also looks like the underside of the hood has "air channels" built into the structural reinforcements to direct outside cold air directly into the carb. That's Slick!

I wonder how the top side of the hood looked. Did they rework the hood ornaments to double are air intakes?

Steve you car is just sick! I also have a 68 Camaro that I have torn down and currently rebuilding. I have not decided who will do the finish work, but will definitely give BOS a call as I get closer to finishing the mock up work. I live here in L.A. and BOS is still close enough to check out.

There will be stories on this hood and other parts of Project-X in upcomming issues of PHR :)

They are worth the trip and they have lots of first gen experience. Hope to see ya at some events.

Nope.. been owned by the company since the mid 60s.. I was kept at our tech center. I borrowed it a few times to take the wife on a cruise (and take it by her high school).

GM got it 6 months ago and went to town on it. LOTS of custom touches. This is sort of like what they did with Reggie's '69 but the '57 came out better.

C6 suspension, ZL1 engine.. tons of upgrades to GM standards. It's pretty freaking amazing.

A little more info about the 57 Chevy. Wow that car has a lot of history.

-----------
On the hood, the iconic “gun sight” ornaments were removed and their housings enlarged by 50 mm. They now serve as ram air induction inlets, feeding a custom air box mounted to the underside of the hood. When the hood is closed, the air box fits over the Anniversary 427’s carburetor, which is fitted with an L-88-style flame arrestor.
