Gents,

The other thread is getting big and a bit difficult to keep track of. So, here's the latest that I'm aware of:

Date and time: 6:30am November 18
Place: Shell Station @ Angeles Crest Highway and the 210 Freeway.
Destination: http://www.newcombsranch.com/ for breakfast (approximately $10 + tip)
Distance: 27 miles one-way with 4000+' elevation change (get gas)
Finish time: Back @ ACH & 210 around 9:30 or so depending on the amount of BS'ing.
Headcount:

Carl
Chad
Mike
Nick
Steve
rileydawgg
Rolling Thunder

What did I miss, and who?

Okay, who was up on the Angeles Crest today. I was headed up to Newcomb's for lunch at about 11:30 and saw a red 1st gen headed down just below Charlton Flats.

Fess up! Chad? Looked like your car.

ha ha. Yeah that was me :)

My 14 year old sister was visiting me and I took her up there for breakfast.

I need to get some familiarity with the road so you guys don't ditch me :p

How's the route? Did it get all burnt up??

BTW what were you driving Mike?

Non-descript white minivan with a German Shepherd on the passenger seat and another in the back. There's no reason you would have spotted me.

I've got an engine vibration right now that starts to be noticeable at 2,000 and simply gets worse as RPM climb. It's a diaphram clutch without the CF type weights, so I really doubt it's from the clutch. The plugs look okay (one's a little rich). The indicated timing hasn't changed and the balancer bolt is properly torqued so the balancer's still in place. I did a visual inspection of the upper valve train and everything looks okay. I'm thinking maybe a dirty/clogged/stuck open fuel injector. I've got a set coming and will swap them in. If that doesn't do it, Chad, maybe I can ride with you as your "rally" co-pilot.

Mike, I have a set of 36#'s if you want to try one.

No worries about the fires.

Carl: Thanks for the offer, but I have a set coming. Hopefully it'll be something easy like that. On the plus side if it's more involved, I DO have a spare 11:1 hydraulic roller, Dart Pro 1 headed, 383 I could pop in if I had to, but not by November 18th. So, I'm either driving or riding - either way, I'm there.

Sorry to hear about the engine trouble Mike.

You can certainly ride with me if you like.

The only thing that will keep me away is if I'm assigned to go to the Goodguys Scottsdale show to cover it...

Maybe someone else could drive my car??? lol

Steve: I don't know what to say! Because I mentioned car issues even before you made your generous offer, I assume you meant me.

If so, we can meet at the Shell Station and you can take the minivan to the Airport. I'll even vacuum out the dog hair!

I can't tell you how much I appreciate this. :bananna2:

Bump!

Just a reminder to those already planning on attending and to get this to the eyes of those who might be interested but haven't seen it.

Nope. Steve is working so he has to bail.
