The prevoios owner cut fire wall back 1.25" , plus some other weird stuff. (later)
Here are some pics.

You can see my son's 69 RS in the back. --- (taylor1969) ( I kicked him off the lift...)
His build is on this site. His car is going to be fantastic when he's done.

Once I cut out this mod and saw what was done, I started to snip, drill and grind.

Wow I didn't know all those pieces were available. I should have guessed though I mean it is a 69 camaro. So why did the previous owner cut the firewall up like that anyway?

I think that has plan was to move the engine back an inch and to make room for an HEI distibutor. The previous owner didn't really finish the job well because you could see the floor of the car from the cowl panel. There would have been no way to drive the car in the rain without having an inch of water sitting on the floor.

The previous owner also did a home job minitub using aluminum, rivets and lots of caulk. I am sure that my dad will post up pictures of that mess in the near future.

I still wish that my car was as straight and rust free as this one. If not for the previous owner's mods this car would have been perfect with absolutely no rust.

They will both be on the road as semi-daily drivers. Trips, meets etc.

My dad is actually a lot further along now. He needs to get more of his pictures up!

Here is my car - https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34529

We'll both be tearing up the streets sooner or later - just need to find a good painter.
