Hamilton was 7th, made a mistake in the beginning and had some problems with the car...

but overall 2nd in the world championship, not bad for a rookie

Love KIMI hate Ferrari, always been a McLaren fan, hope Alonso leaves.

Finally Kimi had a car that didn't let him down. Mika was there to cheer on his countrymen.

Hamilton will have plenty of other chances to be world champion, I was rooting for Ferrari and couldn't have been happier with the results. After all the bad luck Kimi has had over the years it was nice to see him break his jinx. Heck he even smiled after the race! :twothumbs

Not a real F1 fan but definitely watched this race. Yes, Hamilton made a couple of rookie mistakes and there was a minor shifting problem that took about 30 seconds to "fix," but he worked back up to finish 7th.

Congrats to Kimi as well . . .

Now let the fun begin with the appeals process against the FIA's ruling on fuel cooling temperatures . . .

Cheers,

I am a huge F1 and Ferrari fan, was really happy to see him win with all the Mclaren BS going on this season. Hamilton will get his chance, he's so young. And I am interested to see if Mclaren makes Alonso sit out next season.

On Sky Sports last night they said the fuel cooling issues would only affect the drivers in question and if their places(points) were taken away it would not advance Hamilton who would then be considered 4th finisher in the race. So it seems Kimi's (the Finnish version of Elmer Fudd) championship is assured. Congrats to Ferrarri!

I have pulled for Hamilton all year, he being the Rookie/underdog, plus the fact he can flat drive. Stupid mistakes the last TWO weeks cost him the championship by what, 1 point??
It would have been cool for him to win as he would have been the first Rookie ever to win, but Kimi is good too, so since I don't get a cut from either one, it really doesn't matter. Great race yesterday though, I felt bad for Hamilton, even on the first lap...

I don't know, maybe it is his fights with Schumacher all the time. Or his middle fingering of Schumacher when his car broke down last year and Alonso won the championship.

I was at the live race in Canada and was shocked at how many fans went crazy and were cheering when Alonso got passed by Takuma Sato in the Super Aguri.

I guess when you are the champion people gun for you more than anybody. I was a big Schumacher fan and I think there just and many haters as there was fans of his.

I lost respect for Alonso when he cried about Hamilton to the team, just go and beat the kid if you can. Supposedly he held it over Ron Dennis' head about the Ferrari info (Stepney gate) to get his way. If your that good just go out and beat the rookie don't cry to the team and threaten them. All is rumors but there is always some truth to it.

Alonso just seemed like a pisspot....F1 drivers have gotten very odd and unlikeable lately, they are turning into robots.

da.I can't give you a reason, but I've always had an instinct-level negative reaction to him.

Would have much preferred to see LH win, though. Might have made F1 appear a little closer to earth to have the rookie take it all.

He did smile this time :) Hopefully he won't be as serious after this. But it is a finnish thing after all...

And I don't know why but I have never liked Alonso either, even less after he became a crybaby
