After getting into credit card debt and having my ID mixed up with a guy back home in PA and having my credit get tagged for tons of collection notes, I finally got it all paid off, cleaned up, blah blah blah.

So finally free and clean! Now this is a good credit report:
Now delinquent:0
Amount delinquent$0
Delinquencies in last 7y:0
Public records in last 12m / 10y:0 / 0
Inquiries in last 6m:0
First credit line:Oct-1994
Current / open credit lines:12 / 8
Total credit lines:22
Revolving credit balance:$0
Bankcard utilization:0%

:bananna2:

It is so nice to finally have the hours of time on the phone with hospitals, collection agencies, credit card companies, credit agencies, etc, pay off! I've learned my lesson on the CC too, being young and dumb leads to being old and poor. :look:

I still don't understand the First credit line Oct 1994, though. I was only 14 years old then. Weird.

I don't think so. I didn't get my first official paycheck until I was like 17 or so.

That's usually due to a parent using the childs SSN to get a phone or utility turned on. Usually.

Kinda doubt that, my parents never had any issues with things like that.

Congrats! trust me, I know how great it is not having to deal with that crap anymore. But 12 current credit lines? That's asking for trouble again! Get out the scissors!

negative! a major part of your credit score is how much credit do you have available and how much of that are you using. Your score will plummet if you start closing credit cards. Simply don't use them except for maybe once a month and rotate them but pay them off immediately. The other huge factor in your score is making your payment on time every time. Never miss a payment.

Congrats on getting it all cleaned up. I do my absolute best to owe no one. Yeah it leaves me sitting at home on friday nights because I have no money to go out, but no one has power over me because I am in debt to them.

Hey, did you use a program, or go it on your own. I am getting ready to go at this myself. Details, details... :&

I went at it on my own. 99% of it was by no fault of my own, it was just confusion between my SSN and another guy with the same name's SSN.

After many phone calls, yelling, haggling, frustration, and general confusion, I got it all straight. In the mean time I paid down my credit debt on my own and right now I only owe like $100 on the CC. I'm paying that off in a week or so.

And WS6 is right, that's why they are open. Right now I only have two credit cards in my wallet. One is for emergencies and one is for when I travel on business. I cut the rest up and leave them there to make my credit look good. :naughty:
