how similar is the olds 455 to the pontiac 455?

Same cubes, bolt to same trans, fit in similar cars with prerequisite mount/hardware change.
BUT other than carbs, distributor caps, maybe Alternators and possibly plug wires if they are long enough, oh and I amn sure with same type carb you could possibly getthe air cleaners to swap too.
In my opinion though the Ponch is a much better engine as it can make scads of bottom end torque and not have to buy big heads or such.
