I am building a customers 68 Plymouth GTX and we have built him a new 426 HEMI and are fitting it with Twin turbochargers. I need to rebuild the rearend, and want to replace the factory posi and gears with stronger pieces.

The question is: What do you recommend? The car is a street car with a TKO-600 5-speed, and will not see any 1/4 mile action. I do not want to have to install a spool in this vehicle. I was thinking a Tru-trac, but I am not sure of the power they are able to handle. The car will have a 275 or so rear tire, so it will not be able to actually put all its power to the ground. Here is a pic of the motor it was orginally built by Street Performance, I had Dave Weber at Modern Muscle do a little magic to it...:naughty:

If this is a Dana 60 then just put a Detroit Locker in it. There is also a 4 pinion Power-Lok for this rear end, which is a lot stronger than the 2 pinion Trac-Lok.

Thanks for the reply. I have only used the Detroit Locker in 4wd applications. Would the Power-Lok be quieter than the detroit, but just as strong, or is the detroit the stronger one? Does anyone make a better locker for under $800?

The Power-Lok will be smoother and quieter, but not as strong. I think the Detroit Locker is about the strongest differential available. The 4 pinion Power-Lok is probably second strongest. I don't know what the Truetrac is able to handle, but it is also a strong differential.

I will just go with the Detroit Locker then. Thanks for the advise.
