allright for all you "show" car painters in here or people who saw there show car painted. do you seal em all or not? are you just wet sanding the primer then going to base coating. Or just seal on certain colors like silver. how does your paint process usually go?

Well I sealed mine. Just haven't painted it yet. I would recommend it personally.

I would say it depends on the transparency of the color. If you have a color that covers well, then I wouldn't, it's just another coat of paint that can attract dust. JMHO. I don't seal much anymore.

I dont seal to much either, Ive been in the same shop painting for the last 10 years and I dont get to see to much from other people painting I was just curious what kinda replies I would get. I hadnt planned on sealing mine just one more coat to add texture and nibs even though I was gonna reclear anyway.

We seal everything here at Best of Show. From bare metal we epoxy prime with PPG DP primer, then we use a high build poly primer, block the car, seal it with ppg DP again and then apply base and clear.

No When useing a a bare metal primer use dp401lf and allow 1 hr at 70 degrees induction time before spraying. When useing as a sealer use dp402lf and you can spray at ur leisure

Over bare metal it mixed 2:1 with DP401LF

Used as a Sealer its mixed 2:1:1/2 with DP402LF and DT reducer

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong
