I am building a 69 Camaro with an LS1.. I am using the factory harness modified by wait4meperformance..
I was wondering what you guys in similar situations are using for a body harness?? I think that is what it is called.. For all the lighting and signals inside the car..
Thanks

After doing one of them, I will use these guys as much as possible.

They have the simplest, easiest to install and trick wiring harness on the market. You can have the entire car wired in under 15 hours, vs 45+ from Painless or AAW.

I'm using the stock body and engine harness, but integrating a GTO harness to work with the factory firewall plugs. The ECM will mount on the front of the LH fenderwell.
I don't think anyone makes a drop-in harness that does the whole enchillada. It's going to take some work and adaptation to make any of the current offerings work.

I'm using a 4th gen body and engine bay harness. I modified it to fit the car and route the way I saw fit. The nice thing about this method is I will be able to keep VATS and the BCM functions that I like. ie.. remote key fob functions, RAP ( self dimming lights, radio stays on until door opened )

I, too, am using the GM F-body engine and body harnesses.

I used the AAW Classic Update harness, was not overally impressed with it, I think I have 30hrs into it. I used the stock LS2 harness on my motor. It only took a few wires to hook the 2 together.

Why does it take 45 hours to install an AAW harness? Arent they just plug and play? Seems like if it was a plug and play it should only take 2 hours or so.

The Classic Update kit allows for custom routing, hence some of the plugs for the harness needs to be attached. Add in proper routing, wrapping, etc. and the time will add up.
Stock replacement harnesses fall in with zero problems but do not work well with electronic ignitions, electric fans, etc.

exactly what Carl said, the classic update has just lengths of wires so everything has to be routed and cut to length, and almost all the plugs put on, it makes for a clean install but lots of time. But all the extra circuits for power windows, fans, ecm are nice. However the quality is not impressive, and its rather complicated.
If I could do it over again i would try the company Tyler recommended above.

For the cost the AAW is hard to beat. We have them on the shelf

when you say body do you mean the dash harness and such? If so depending on how stock the interior and front lighting is staying, I would go for an M&H harness. They fit the best and they do have an ATO fusepanel upgrade for your car as well. They blow painless and AAW out of the freaking water. Quality of construction isnt even in the same ball park. For your ls1 harness that should be an overlay and all you need is BAT and IGN from the fusepanel everything else should be self contained on its own fusepanel unless you build custom harness' like myself and then I have a 20 fusepanel that will do the whole car plus the engine and the panel is smaller than a pack of cigarettes, unfortunately I only build those on cars in the shop. So yeah I say get an M&H harness.
