If I were able to put together a track day in California where would you want to see it? Since I don't know all the options I am not posting a poll. Throw out your ideas for a possible Pro-Touring.com west coast track day location and lets see what we can come up with for 2008. The only places I know are Buttonwillow and Willow Springs. Even if the location has been suggested that you want let us know if you would participate. I also need to get a feel for attendance.

Buttonwillow

It "sorta" between the north and the south and it's a great "newbie friendly" track. Which means there's not much to hit.

Very few "southern" guys will go to Thunderhill and very few "northern" guys will go wot Willow Springs or such. This is a good compromise.

Besides Buttonwillow is MUCH cheaper to rent and they even have a skidpad to play on.

Google maps has a new feature that lets you make your own maps! (http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&ll=37.68382,-112.543945&spn=14.867978,29.794922&z=5&om=1&msid=104569123823959536538.00043c12c7f30be1d7e53) There's all the locations so far.

Hey, I heard a guy, who knew a guy, that claimed that Buttonwillow would be best location for the cost and equal travel for all. Well except for a few of us that live in the area. I'll be there or anywhere for the event.

Willow Springs or Buttonwillow would probably be doable for us AZ and NV folks as well...

Hey, I know that guy as well.

Seriously though.. it is the most central location and the cost to rent (I think) is better.

We can rent some garages and pretend to be "big time"... lol

Since the turnout vs. the cost can be quite high it may be more cost efficient to piggyback with another group or school. Speedventures is usually accomodating. It may also be helpful to have it in conjuction with a school day as we have done here before. This way the new guys get some instruction.

Maybe we can get Mary and David to host a pre-track day seminar!

From Los Angeles it is not that much farther to go to BW vs. WS. Another 45 miles one-way. I'd drive that far to go to a better attended event!

Humm, December 15 @ BW is holding a performance driving clinic.

Dude, those garages at BW are worth every penny. For $50/day you can put your car in there for the night, have a lighted work area, compressed air, and relief from the sun. Best money Mark and I ever spent.

Yes, I know ;)

So, we going to do this? I need to test out my track computer.. but hopefully not my fire system.. lol

God, I will be SOOO rusty.. been two years of no track time except one little romp with Nitto in a crappy loaner car.

I'm in! Never been but want to run! I need to start shaking it down a little... and soon. With the TKO in there, I should be able to get down there with some hearing to spare!

If this happens do you want to share a garage? My car's the pitcher, not a catcher

I spoke to Aaron yesterday. Nice guy. He is sending me pricing on exclusive track costs for Buttonwillow, Willow Springs and the Streets of Willow.

I second that, we had alot of track time and it was great for newbies. It was cheap too....$130 per person????

Full track rental wasn't too bad. I was afraid to put up the cash and not have everyone show up.

Buttonwillow looked like a fun track to drive, but is just too far south for some of us that are farther north. For me, Thunderhill or Reno would be more central.
