Hello all! I am so excited to find this site as i am a HUGE fan of g-machines, and i recently started my own g-machine project. The car is a 1980 Trans Am.
I will be buying a house in the near future, then i can start rippin and tearin into the car, but for now its in storage untouched. '80 was not my first choice, but the sheetmetal is perfect and the price was to good to pass up, so i jumped on it.
The future mod list so far stands at...

-455 Crate
-Tremec TKO 600
-Baer Brakes
-DSE mini tub
-DSE 2nd gen f-body suspension drop
-18x12 w/335 tires out back, 18x9 in the front
-Custom paint that i have yet decided on

That list should be enough to keep me busy for many years to come!
Look forward to getting to know the group and maybe meeting some of the local guys!

That 80 looks solid. And a full roof car probably makes it rare for the year. Seems most late 2nd gen T/A's were T-tops. Great project!

Looks like a pretty solid car, aside from the floorboards.

lol, yea they do look a lil beat up in that pic, but i assure you its just surface rust, no where has it eaten all the way through. Thats something ive been meaning to clean up and toss a coat of primer to keep it from getting worse.

Thanks! Yes, the body is solid, probably the main reason i bought it. '70-'73 were the years i was after, but for the price and the condition of this one i couldn't pass her up.

Thanks again guys! Now the main thing i need to learn is PATIENCE! And how to set a budget lol. I want this thing done now, but its going to take time with the $$ i plan on spending.
I should be able to get it into paint before i leave for Iraq, and an engine and trans after i get back. After that, it will be slow going. Ill keep it updated in the Project Update section. Thanks again all!

nice project, i've got a 79 ta myself. everytime i see a small block in a pontiac i just want to.....:slap: somebody. unless it's the original engine, or a car that only came with a chevy small block. small blocks are so boring!...but to each his own i guess so great choice on the 455!
